This was my hair 2 months ago! What a disaster!
My hair is naturally straight, as in really, really straight. I have fine hair and I have a lot of it. I hate my straight hair. Don't ask me why, but when I have straight hair I feel like I'm an adult jiji. Unconsciously I become more serious, I look older and I generally don't feel like me. For those who don't know me, sometimes I'm a little crazy, a little wild, and I hate being an adult, so straight hair is definitely a no for me. Why do we always want what we don't have? Those of us with straight hair want curls and those with curly hair want it straight. Why can't we just be happy with what we have?
Since I really don't like my straight hair, I've been having perms every 6 to 9 months for the past 15 years to have the crazy curls that make me feel great. Now…. It took me several tries to get the curls I wanted since I didn't want a nice neat curl because it just doesn't go with my personality. In my head, I knew exactly what I wanted, but creating it turned out to be more difficult than I expected. I wanted a wild curl that looked natural, nothing too smooth or too neat. To be honest, due to the amount of hair and fine hair I have, my first perms left me like a cotton candy ball. I finally found a new hairdresser who listened to what I wanted and between us we found a way to get the curls I wanted. I think my hairdresser ( Rachel @ Sparkles Hair Salon, Nerja ) wanted to strangle me on more than one occasion whilst i was "telling her" what to do and what not to do and let's be honest, she is the hairdresser, not me, so I imagine she hated me for telling her "how to do her job". Sorry Rachel :(. That said, after numerous attempts and doing the exact opposite of what hairdressers are taught, I was happy. I have the curls I wanted and the crazy feeling that comes with those curls.
Now ... I don't use dyes on my hair but it lightens in the summer with the sun yet despite the perms, my hair always It has been in very good condition. I have always worn masks, sleeping with them a couple of times a week, I trim the ends regularly and basically try to take care of it as much as possible. For the past few years, I have been using the extraordinary oil from L'oreal which I love.
About 9 months ago and right after my last perm, I ran out of oil, I bought a different brand that I didn't like at all and then forgot a bit. What a mistake that was!
In December, realizing that my hair had grown quite a bit and needed a new perm, I decided that I was going to have to leave my hair straight for a while until I was able to get a date with Rachel. When I saw how bad my hair was when I dried it, I wanted to cry. In all my life, my hair has never been in such bad condition and I knew that having another perm with my hair in this condition would be impossible if I thought about having any hair left afterwards. So I went to see Rachel, feeling very depressed but hoping for Rachel to tell me that it wasn't as bad as it seemed, but I wasn't so lucky. We decided to cut almost 3 cm in length and cut the layers a little and that I would go back every 4 weeks until it was in better condition :(
As I mentioned, I really don't like my straight hair and the fact that it had grown so much and now being straight at the roots I didn't like the curls anymore either so I spent the next week with my hair up because I no longer I knew what to do with it.
Here comes the discovery !!!!!!
I went to Primor to buy a nail polish that I can only find there ( Beter Ridge Vanisher Base ) and as always when I go to Primor, I stop to look at almost everything in the store has. It is incredible the amount of things that we buy that we do not really need hahaha. Now…. Looking at all the miracle hair treatments and wondering which one I should invest 10 to 20 euros in just to realize that it really didn't do much for my hair, a huge bottle caught my eye. I think it caught my attention more than anything because it's very simple and looks like something that should be in a hospital. So, after sitting on the floor for a little while cos yes, it had to be on the lowest shelf, and after discovering that this company had a complete range that I had never seen before, I decided to try two of their products. Why? .........
IT IS € 2.50 OR LESS FOR A BOTTLE OF ONE LITRE! Yes, that's right! € 2.50! I thought, why not? My investment was going to be a grand total of €9 for four products and, in the worst case, I would have enough shampoo to last what would seem like an eternity.
These are the two that I chose.
Kallos - Pro-tox shampoo and hair mask. € 2.50 per one litre bottle. This is the one that originally caught my eye, so I had to give it a try.
Kallos - Shampoo with Aloe and hair mask. €1.99 per one litre bottle!
When I got home, I Googled this company ( Kallos ) and they are a Budapest company, which has been operating since 1978 and which actually have a great range of products including hair serums, hairsprays, shower gels, etc, etc
I have been using these products for 2 months. I have been using Pro-Tox Monday through Friday and Aloe Vera on weekends. The only reason for this is that I go to the gym every morning, so I shower and do my hair at the gym. These bottles are too big and heavy to go to the gym every day, so I put the Pro Tox in travel bottles for my gym bag.
From the first use, I loved how they left my hair. Obviously, I knew that big changes wouldn't happen overnight, but I really had high hopes.
This is my hair today! 9 weeks of using these products! I LOVE THEM, I LOVE THEM, I LOVE THEM!!!. After 4 weeks of using them, I went to see Rachel and even she was amazed at how much my hair had improved. I have already recommended these products to some of my friends and they have all been as surprised as I am. Veronica has been using the banana and the cherry and Viki the mango
Honestly, I can't find any cons for these products. I really love them and the price is fantastic. It just goes to show that just because something is more expensive it doesn't always mean been better than the cheaper options.
